Leopard vs. Lion in Africa

LEPORD VS. LION  by Nathan, age 12

TODAY WE WENT ON THE MOST AMAZING SAFARI YET! IT WAS A MORNING SAFARI. WE GOT A RADIO CALL OF A LEOPARD IN A TREE! WE HAVE NOT SEEN A LEPORD IN A TREE YET SO THAT WHOULD BE VERY THRILLING! THE LEPORD WAS IN THE TREE BECAUSE A LION SAW IT. THE LEPORD AND THE LION ARE BITTER ENEMIES. THEY ARE ALWAYS STEALING EACH OTHERS FOOD, FIGHTING, AND IN A COMPITITION OF THE TITLE OF ”KING OF THE JUNGLE”. THE LION CHASED THE LEPORD BECAUSE IT WANTED TO KILL IT. THE LEPORD WAS A MOTHER SO IF THE LION COULD GET ITS PAWS ON THE LEOPARD IT WOULD ELIMANATE THE LEPORED AND THE CUBS. THAT WOULD ELIMANATE THE COMPATITION. THE LEPORD HAD TO ESCAPE, ITS CUBS WHERE HUNGRY. THE LIONS GUARDED THE BOTOM OF THE TREE FIERSLY. THE LIONS STARTED TO GET UNFOCUSED ON THE LEPORD HOPING SHE WOULD STARVE IN THE TREE. THE LEPORD CRPT DOWN BRANCH BY BRANCH TRYING NOT TO EVEN MAKE THE SLIGHTEST NOISE. IT GOT CLOSE TO THE BOTTOM, DOWN TO THE TRUNK STILL SILENT, INTO THE REACH OF THE LIONS. STILL ABOUT TEN FEET IN THE AIR. SHE MADE A GIANT LEAP OF FAITH. IT FELT LIKE SHE WAS IN THE AIR FOR HOURS, BUT IT ONLY TOOK THREE SECONDS UNTILL THE LIONS SAW HER. THE LIONS POPPED THERE HEADS UP AND THE LEPORD RAN, SHE RAN AND RAN AND RAN. SHE RAN AS FAST AS HER LEGS COULD CARRY HER…..SHE MADE IT TO SAFETY. I WAS SO RELIEVED. RIGHT NOW AS YOU READ THIS SHE IS SITTING AND CARRING FOR HER CUBS. NOW SHE HAS SOME EXPERIENCE WITH THOSE NASTY LIONS.
